Protecta-Crete is an all-weather siliconized concrete and masonry sealer that penetrates deep within porous untreated concrete and masonry. Protecta-Crete will fill capillary channels and invisibly repels moisture, yet allowing buildings to breathe. The specialized blend introduces functional silicone groups, resulting in molecules constantly interacting with one another to create a superior shield. PROTECTA-CRETE APPLICATION SHEET

BASIC USES

      • Damp-proofs uncoated exterior walls
      • Prevents efflorescence
      • Protects exterior concrete pavement and makes for easier clean-up
      • Defends against surface damage caused by freezing moisture
      • Aids in preventing staining
      • Exterior use only

SURFACE PREPARATION

Surface must be free of dirt, oil, grease, loose paint, mortar, and any other contaminants. New, glazed brick should have the gloss removed with a wire brush. New block and stucco should be allowed to dry at least 60 days at 75°F. Power washing is recommended to ensure proper bonding of coating. Fill any holes or cracks with Protecta-Sealer. Any large cracks should be covered with Protecta-Sealer or fabric.

APPLICATION

Protecta-Crete is ready for use as it comes from the container. Do not thin. In cool weather, material may thicken, requiring warming by interior storage. DO NOT HEAT! Apply coating only to dry surfaces.

Protecta-Crete may be applied by spray, brush, or roller. For spray application, use an 0.030-0.035 orifice. Applied most effectively by air, gasoline, or electric-powered airless spray units such as Graco Model 744 or Speedflo HydraM 4000. Equivalent equipment from other manufacturers may also be used.

Clean up equipment with mineral spirits.

Apply when temperature is 40°F and rising. Wash-off resistance is dependent on temperature . . . 3-4 hours at 70°F, 12 at 40°F. Do not apply over moisture or frost.

Our products are palletized according to the following quantities:

Coatings may be packaged in 55 gallon drums

All freight is shipped collect, but is allowed pre-paid on advance arrangements. All freight charges are based on shipment from our plants.

STORAGE

Store product with lid tightly sealed to prevent material evaporation. Do not store product near heat or open flame. The product will have a shelf life of one year, if the container has not been opened.

Note: Before applying Protecta-Products, be sure that the surfaces to be coated are structurally sound and that proper surface preparation has been completed.
